A former Jerusalem mayoral hopeful is launching a venture to create jobs in the capital. Nir Barkat has founded Startup Jerusalem, which aims to create 1,000 jobs by September 2005 and 7,000 in the two years afterward. The group hopes to attract businesses to the city in the areas of health and life sciences; outsourcing and business services; and culture and tourism, the Jerusalem Post reported.
