A former leader of the French Resistance died last week at the age of 93 in Paris. During World War II, Jean Pierre-Bloch, whose father was a Jewish industrialist, organized parachute drops into Vichy France and held several posts in Charles De Gaulle’s anti-Vichy army. Pierre-Bloch later became a human rights advocate.
