A former Nazi guard died before he could be deported from the United States. Jakob “Jack” Reimer, who was ruled to have participated in the persecution of Jews in Poland during World War II, died Aug. 3 at age 86. Reimer, who had lived in New York, previously was found to have lied about his wartime activities when he applied to enter the United States in 1951.
