A former Nazi SS officer is going on trial Tuesday in Germany for war crimes committed 58 years ago in Italy. Friedrich Engel, 92, is standing trial in Hamburg on war crimes charges that included his having given orders to kill 59 prisoners in the Marassi Prison in Genoa in May 1944.
