A former operative with Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency said this week that U.S. commodities trader Marc Rich, who received a controversial pardon from outgoing President Clinton, helped bring Ethiopian and Yemenite Jews to Israel in the 1980s and 1990s. Avner Azoulai now heads the Rich Foundation in Israel.
