A former police chief will be summoned before an Argentine congressional commission Thursday amid rumors of progress in the investigation of the 1994 bombing of the AMIA Jewish community center in Buenos Aires. Authorities announced last week that they had discovered that a policeman arrested in the case had received $2.5 million a week before the bombing, which killed 86.
