A gambling tycoon joined Israel’s Labor Party. Avi Shaked, who made millions abroad from Internet casino services, announced this week he would run for the Knesset under new Labor leader Amir Peretz. “They say I’m a millionaire. That’s true, and I’m not ashamed of it, but first and foremost I’m a socialist,” Shaked said.
