A gasoline bomb was thrown through the window of an East London Jewish home early today, But Scotland Yard detectives said they had no evidence to link that incident with yesterday’s bomb explosion in the passenger office of the Israel government-owned Zim Lines on Regent Street. Today’s bomb victims were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lipsky who were asleep when the bomb exploded shortly after midnight. They were not hurt and the damage was described by police as “not extensive.”
The home-made bomb that went off in the steamship company’s office early yesterday afternoon did minor damage but injured Mrs. Rachel Picker, 41, a booking clerk. She was hospitalized for leg wounds. Police said she was making a very good recovery.
Scotland Yard is investigating the episode but no arrests have been made so far. A Yard spokesman told JTA that the investigation has taken note of the claim by the Palestine Liberation Front that it planted the bomb in the Zim office. He said there was no indication yet who was responsible.
