A German lawmaker criticized the Central Council of Jews in Germany for not accepting Progressive congregations. Volker Beck, domestic affairs speaker for the Green Party, told the Netzeitung Internet agency last Friday that the Central Council should be more flexible in its criteria, accepting congregations not in existence for the required 10 years.
