A German mediator trying to arrange a prisoner swap between Israel and Hezbollah left Beirut, a Lebanese newspaper reported over the weekend. The paper, Al-Mustaqbal, said it was unclear whether the mediator’s efforts succeeded or failed. Hezbollah kidnapped three Israeli soldiers and an Israeli businessman in October.
