A group of 19 Egyptian agronomists has begun a three-week stay in Israel to take part in courses on irrigation methods. The group will be staying in Tel Aviv. Israeli sources maintain that the visit is a sign of Cairo’s desire to improve ties with Israel, on the assumption that the Taba compromise is about to be signed and a general thaw in the cold peace will follow.
