A group of Lithuanian Jews asked European lawmakers to intervene in a dispute between rival sections of Vilnius’ Jewish community. In an e-mail sent Wednesday to the lawmakers, the Vilnius Jewish Religious Community — a group associated with the Chabad-Lubavitch movement of former Vilnius Rabbi Sholom Ber Krinsky — wrote that “a reprehensible abuse of human rights has been taking place unchecked in Lithuania over the past months.”
