A high court has been called upon to mediate a war crimes trial dispute in which the defense counsel accused the Judge and his two assistants of bias. The dispute led to a one-week postponement of the trial of nine former Gestapo officials in Giessen who are accused of murdering or abetting the murders of hundreds of Jews and Poles in German-occupied Poland between 1940-44. The judge has denied the bias charge.
