Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt, Adlai Stevenson and Nelson Rockefeller have expressed support of an American Jewish Congress proposal for a White House conference to study means of combating violence touched off by radical and religious bigotry, the AJC reported today.
The proposal for a national conference under White House sponsorship was initially voiced by Rabbi Joachim Prinz, president of the AJC. Replying to his suggestion, President Eisenhower pledged “careful consideration” of the idea. Bi-partisan support has since been voiced by a number of nationally prominent people and organizations.
