Establishment of a Manhattan chapter of the American Jewish Congress will be effected at a meeting Sunday afternoon at the Hotel Commodore in which outstanding individual Jews and representatives of Jewish organizations will participate.
The meeting will be preliminary to a borough-wide conference for the purpose of existing affiliation with the American Jewish Congress movement.
A similar gathering, designed to strengthen the organization in Brooklyn, will be held Tuesday evening at the East Midwood Jewish Center, 1,625 Ocean Avenue, Brooklyn.
Sunday’s meeting has been called under the auspices of a committee of which Harold S. Bunder is the chairman. Speakers will include Louis Lipsky and Dr. Samuel Margoshes.
Tuesday’s speakers will include Professor Horace M. Kallen of the New School for Social Research and Dr. Joshua L. Goldberg, national secretary of the American Jewish Congress.
