A. J. Congress Cables Protest on Poland’s Emigration Proposals

The American Jewish Congress has cabled Polish Foreign Minister Josef Beck protesting Government proposals for wholesale emigration of Jews, it was announced today, on the ground that “the solution of the problem of Jewish relations can be found only on the soil of Poland.”

At the same time, the Congress made public a call to an emergency conference on Jan. 31 to devise a program of action in behalf of the Polish Jews.

The cable, signed by Dr. Stephen S. Wise, president of the Congress, also charged the emigration proposals violated minorities clauses of the Versailles Peace Treaty and the Polish Constitution.
