A Jerusalem man was remanded in custody for 15 days by a magistrates court Sunday for sending a threatening letter to Meir Katchalsky, son of President Ephraim Katzir, and for stealing his car. The suspect, Meir Asraf, was arrested after police were tipped off that he and several others who have not been identified were involved in the theft of Katchalsky’s car in Jerusalem last month. Last Saturday the President’s son received a letter, allegedly from Asraf and his friends, warning him that he was “likely to get hurt.”
