A Jewish group plans to honor the president of Germany. German President Johannes Rau is slated to receive the Leo Baeck Medal of Honor in New York on Tuesday. The award from New York’s Leo Baeck Institute recognizes Rau’s commitment to reconciliation between Jews and Christians.
