A Jewish man won the first marathon held in Afghanistan. 1st Lt. Mike Baskin finished Sunday’s run in 3 hours, 12 minutes and 15 seconds. Baskin, who has been in Afghanistan since April, is a regular attendee at Temple Adat Shalom in Poway, Calif., his father Alan told JTA.
