A Knesset committee called on the Israel Defense Force to let pharmacies throughout Israel take part in handing out gas mask kits and informing the public about precautions that should be taken in the event of an Iraqi attack. Labor Knesset member Rafi Elul said pharmacies were located in more convenient places to reach the public than IDF distribution centers and pharmacists would be able to educate the public regarding which treatments to use in the event of a biological or chemical attack.
