A leading European insurance firm is reportedly poised to pay at least $65 million to settle claims that it refused to honor the policies of Eastern European Holocaust survivors after World War II. A spokesman for the Italian firm, Assicurazioni Generali, confirmed news of the settlement, which was announced by Sen. Alfonse D’Amato.
