A leading Jewish cultural organization is urging the community to respect the “right and responsibility” of New York’s Jewish Museum to mount a controversial exhibit of Holocaust-related art. The National Foundation for Jewish Culture issued the call after some Jewish groups demanded the cancellation of “Mirroring Evil: Nazi Imagery/Recent Art,” which opened Sunday. The museum put up warning signs and provided extra exits around some particularly controversial installations.
