A longtime Jewish youth group leader has been accused of sexually, physically and emotionally harrassing and abusing scores of teens from the early 1970s to the present, according to the New York Jewish Week. Many of the alleged victims of Rabbi Baruch Lanner, director of regions for the Orthodox movement’s National Conference of Synagogue Youth, say their complaints to officials in the Orthodox Union were ignored. Lanner refused to comment to the paper. An O.U. official said he had never heard specific allegations against Lanner, although he has heard rumors for many years.
