A lot has been acquired by the Congregation Hope of Israel for the erection of the New Jewish Community Center, on the West side of Gerard avenue near 164th street in the Bronx.
The lot has a 175-foot frontage and is 60 feet deep. Ground for the new building will be broken at an early date. The building fund was enriched by some $2,000 netted last Saturday night when an entertainment and dance was staged by the congregation at the Concourse Plaza.
Rabbi Samuel Benjamin is director of the building fund campaign.
