A magazine aimed at Jews living in the Midwest debuted this month. Jewish Heartland is being published by a Wisconsin-based husband-and-wife team and will cover issues relevant to the estimated 700,000 Jews living between Ohio and the Dakotas. Articles in the first issue address, among other things, coping with diminished Jewish populations, political support by state officials for Jewish causes and local Jewish celebrities.
