Walid Mahmoud Kawasmeh’s family charges that Palestinian intelligence officers tortured him to death during 10 days he spent in their custody. Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat ordered an inquiry into the charges, which have reportedly prompted an outcry from Palestinian human rights groups and an angry public.
