A memoir by Israeli writer Amos Oz won a Jewish book award. “A Tale of Love and Darkness,” which tells the story of a child’s experience in 1940s Jerusalem, won the Koret Jewish Book Award for biography. Robert Alter was recognized for his translation of the “Five Books of Moses.”
