A Middle East economic summit will be reconvened this year after being scrapped in 1998 because of the stalemated peace process, sources in Jerusalem said Tuesday. Representatives of the World Economic Forum, which organizes the summits, visited the region recently to prepare for the next meeting. The summits, which began in 1994 in Morocco, were held annually in an effort to promote economic cooperation between Israel and its Arab neighbors.
