A missing Colombian paramilitary leader reportedly sought sanctuary in Israel. Agence France-Presse said Carlos Castano, co-founder of the right-wing United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia, made his way to Israel after disappearing in April amid negotiations to demobilize the country’s paramilitary groups. Israeli officials said they had no knowledge of Castano arriving in the country.
