A mortgage fund of IL 50 million will be made available this year for Israeli soldiers, families of men who fell during the Yom-Kippur War and veterans of past wars; according to Yerucham Meshel, acting secretary-general of Histadrut. Meshel stated that half the sum would be raised by the Israel Histadrut Foundation in the U.S. and the other half would be advanced by the Israel Ministry of Finance. Qualified Israeli families will be able to get up to IL 50,000 mortgages at low interest.
