A new Web site is aimed at speeding up the return of Nazi-looted art to its rightful owners. The site, operated by the American Association of Museums at www.nepip.org, lists nearly 6,000 artworks in American museums that changed hands in Europe during the Nazi era. Stuart Eizenstat, who served as the Clinton administration’s point man on Holocaust issues, said a site listing works from around the world is necessary, not just for the United States.
