A New York judged sentenced a man who burned down a synagogue to 25 years in jail. In sentencing Dec. 17, Judge Joseph Fahey told Raussi Uthman, who is of Palestinian descent, that his sentence “has nothing to do with your heritage. It is based solely on your conduct.” Uthman’s lawyer said he would appeal.
