A Norwegian U.N. peacekeeper was wounded by Israeli tank fire during an operation in southern Lebanon, a U.N. official charged. A protest was lodged to Israel over the incident, in which the peacekeeper lost a finger, and Israel apologized, the official said. A similar incident in December 1993 resulted in the death of a U.N. soldier.
