A number of Jewish houses were set on fire in the Bukovinian village of Balatcheanu in the last few days as a result of the growing Cuzist incitement in the district. The sheriff of the village who named the incendiaries to the police has received threatening letters. The Jews of the village have appealed to the Czernowitz kehillah for aid.
