A number of leading Israeli figures distanced themselves from Tel Aviv Mayor Roni Milo’s announced plans to form an independent party and run for prime minister in the next national elections. Among those who said they would not team up with Milo were former Foreign Minister David Levy, former Prime Minister Shimon Peres and several members of Likud who have spoken out against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
