A Palestinian-born convert to Judaism was charged with aiding terrorists. The Haifa District Court on Thursday charged Assaf Ben David, 39, with conspiring to aid the enemy during wartime and establishing contacts with a foreign agent, according to Ha’aretz. Ben David, born Hussam Sawafta, was accused of maintaining contact this fall with his brother, Islamic Jihad member Salah Sawafta, even though Sawafta was wanted by Israeli security forces.
