A Palestinian Cabinet minister charged that Israel tried to use a booby-trapped car to assassinate an activist of Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat’s Fatah movement in the West Bank. Palestinian officials said that after explosives were discovered in the car, it was taken to police headquarters in the West Bank city of Ramallah.
