A Palestinian who stabbed an Israeli soldier and took his gun was captured.
The assailant hid in the bathroom of a gas station after Monday afternoon’s attack at a traffic junction near the northern Dead Sea. Police from Maaleh Adumim captured the assailant and retrieved the soldier’s gun.
During an interrogation that began at the gas station, the Palestinian, a resident of Ramallah in the West Bank, said he had arrived at the scene with an accomplice.
The soldier was lightly to moderately wounded and was being treated at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem.
Dead Sea beaches have been open to Palestinian movement since Israel removed more than 50 roadblocks in the West Bank over the past several months.
