A petition calling upon the Minister of Police to show cause why Jews should not be permitted to pray on the Temple Mount has been unanimously rejected by a five-judge Supreme Court panel. The Temple Mount is the site of the Mosque of Omar and the Al Aksa Mosque, the third holiest place of the Moslem religion. Jews are allowed access to the Temple Mount but are not permitted to pray there to avoid offending Moslem sensibilities. While the decision to reject the petition was unanimous, three different opinions were handed down.
