A planned general strike in Israel was called off. The Histadrut, Israel’s labor federation, called off a strike slated for Thursday after reaching an agreement with Israeli Treasury officials. But Histadrut officials indicated Wednesday that disagreements remain over Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s austerity plan.
