A presumed victim of the 1994 bombing of the AMIA Jewish community center in Argentina is alive and well in neighboring Paraguay, according to an AMIA spokesperson. Patricio Irala was found working at a bakery in Paraguay, Reuters reported last week. Following the AMIA attack, Irala’s wife claimed that the one unidentified body in the wreckage belonged to her husband, and collected $55,000 in compensation for his death.
