A private Swiss foundation distributed some $530,000 to about 5,000 Holocaust survivors, most of them in Eastern Europe, according to the group’s officials. The Foundation for Humanity and Justice is separate from the $190 million Holocaust Memorial Fund established last year by Switzerland’s three largest banks to aid needy survivors worldwide.
