Rabbi Hayim Herring is “an outstanding leader,” said Lynn Schusterman, president of Synagogues: Transformation and Renewal, known as STAR. “He understands the multiple issues facing the American Jewish community and is passionate about finding ways to strengthen that community by using the most substantial resource we have — the synagogue.”
