A promotional poster for “Amen” director Costa-Gavras’ new film about the silence of Pope Pius XII and the Catholic Church during the Holocaust has drawn sharp criticism from the Archbishop of Paris and other Catholic leaders since it debuted at this month’s Berlin Film Festival. Now, Jewish leaders are among those signing a petition that calls the joining of the swastika and cross “unhealthy.”
