A protest against the attitude of the British Government in its dispute with the Permanent Mandates Commission has been voiced by the Union for Democratic Control.
The council of the Union issued a resolution protesting against the attempts on the part of the British Government to restrict inquiry into the control of the mandatory system. The Union voices the conviction that “only when there will be a rigorous inspection in regard to the working of the mandates, will it be possible to prevent the mandates from degenerating into disguised protectorates or full annexations.”
