A religious edict was issued against Jews who buy any property in Iraq. Ayatollah Kazem Al- Husseini Al-Haieri said that any Jew who buys real estate in Iraq should be killed. The fatwa, as it is called in Arabic, was reportedly issued after several Iraqis came to the Shi’ite cleric saying Jews from abroad had made inquiries regarding Iraqi property in recent weeks.
