A Russian businessman purchased a 25 percent stake in the Israeli daily Ma’ariv for $85 million. Vladimir Goussinsky, a banking and media magnate who serves as president of the Russian Jewish Congress, beat out American businessman and Jewish leader Ron Lauder in the bidding for the shares.
