A Russian Jewish business tycoon resigned from Parliament with a vow to organize opposition to President Vladimir Putin’s campaign to consolidate power. During his resignation speech before the Duma, Berezovsky referred to himself as a member of the nation’s Jewish community. “What is the difference between a Jew and an Englishman?” he said. “An Englishman leaves without saying goodbye, while a Jew says goodbye without ever leaving.”
