A Senate panel is scheduled to hold a hearing Tuesday on legislation aimed at fighting religious persecution abroad. The measure, sponsored by Sen. Don Nickles (R-Okla.), is similar to a bill the House of Representatives is expected to vote on later this week. Both bills would require sanctions against countries engaged in the persecution of religious minorities.
