A settler leader was arrested after the Israeli army removed settlers from a West Bank outpost.
Israeli soldiers and police on Thursday morning removed five settlers attempting to erect a tent at the Shvut Ami outpost near Kedumim.
Shortly afterward, right-wing Jewish activists converged on the area to confront the evacuators. Daniela Weiss, the former mayor of Kedumim, was arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer.
At the same time, Palestinian olive groves near Kedumim were set on fire allegedly by right-wing activists.
Israeli media later reported that two arson suspects were found hiding in Weiss’ Kedumim home.
